Surat has been India's silk capital for centuries. Tanchoi weavers here interlace extra-weft silk to create floral jamawar and satin-ground brocades — luminous, lightweight, and prized for festive drapes. Every piece in our atelier is finished and quality-checked in Surat.
Thousands of pinches tied by hand — each dot a signature

Gujarat's Bandhani tradition transforms plain silk and georgette into fields of jewel-toned dots. Artisans pinch, bind, and dye cloth in cycles that cannot be rushed — the slight irregularity of each motif is proof of the human hand.

Patan · Gujarat
Patola from Patan — a short journey from Surat — is among India's most complex weaves. Double ikat geometry demands mathematical precision and months at the loom. We partner directly with heritage workshops to bring authentic Patola to our collections.

Curated through our Surat atelier from master weavers in Varanasi — fine mulberry silk with real gold and silver zari. Mughal jaal, butidar, and shikargah motifs emerge pick by pick. A single brocade saree can take weeks to months.
Korvai join — body and border woven separately, united by hand
Partner looms · Tamil Nadu
Temple-town weavers produce heavyweight mulberry silk with contrast borders joined through korvai — a technique demanding two artisans in perfect synchrony. Sourced for our collections and finished at our Gujarat atelier.
Three weeks on one panel — two skilled hands, one curved needle

From Persian zar (gold) and dozi (sewing), zardozi couches gold wire, sequins, and stones onto silk using the aari — a hooked needle that turns the hand into a loom of light. Commissioned through our Surat design studio.
Chain stitches pulled from below the frame — speed meets precision
Gujarat · Kashmir
The aari needle creates continuous chain stitches of extraordinary fineness. Gujarat and Kashmir ateliers stretch fabric over wooden frames and work from beneath — a rhythm that cannot be digitised.
One block per colour — human placement is the signature
Rajasthan · Gujarat
Hand-carved wooden blocks dipped in natural dyes from madder root, indigo, and pomegranate. Each colour, a separate impression. The slight variation between prints is proof — no machine touched the cloth.
